CERTIFIED ORGANIC | Quinoa Mixed
Organic Mixed Quinoa, you know that quinoa is a seed that originated in the Andes and comes in three different colours, but let's talk about flavour. These pseudograins have a nutty undertone and an earthy aftertaste similar to brown rice. However, they have a soft yet slightly chewy texture. The darkest variety of quinoa is the black quinoa which is super rich and healthy as compared to the other two versions. It is the healthiest option of quinoa that has more protein, dietary fibre, and less amount of fat content inside. It takes time to cook black quinoa due to its nuttier and fluffy texture. Red quinoa has a stronger, nuttier flavour compared with the more common white variety. It can also take a few minutes longer to cook and results in a heartier, chewier texture. Because it holds its texture slightly better than white quinoa, it's a good choice for grain salads.

FOUR LEAF | Bran Oat, 4kg
Oat Bran is the outer area of the kernel. Oats, via their high fibre content, remove cholesterol levels from the digestive system, which leads to decreased amounts reaching the blood stream. They also have special antioxidant properties that reduce atherosclerotic plaque (and thereby reducing atherosclerosis). This is especially so when consumed with Vitamin C. It is suggested to take a glass of orange juice with a bowl of oats, or, a bowl of your favourite breakfast cereal topped with a large spoonful of oat bran.

FOUR LEAF | Steel Cut Oats, 5kg
Sometimes referred to as Scotch Oats, Irish Oats or Pin Oats. Steel Cut Oats are made from oat kernels that have been steamed then cut and are excellent for use in such old time favourite dishes as European porridge. They are chewier than rolled oats, may take longer to cook and have the same nutritional value as rolled oats. The real value of Steel Cut Oats is more in the enhanced taste and rougher quality of the oats. The texture is firm compared to rolled oats and some prefer them in recipes for breads, muffins, biscuits, meat loaves and patties.

Oats are a cool climate grain, our variety is a naked (husk less) oats. The downside is that it requires plenty of moisture, demands better soil quality. Our protein is 12.8 [normal 10.7].
We roll our oats fresh on demand, cold rolled oats are not heat treated so all the goodness is retained and should be consumed in 3 month period, kept in a cool dry dark storage. As a seed you can keep it for years in its original form. Traditionally oats are a breakfast cereal used as porridge but these days as fresh muesli and soups for thickening, cook oat grain for 15/20min and eat instead of rice or make it as a salad. Oats are soluble fibre and excellent for your digestion. Oats for breakfast will keep your energy level steady so your body is satisfied for longer.
